If the Sun decided to stop producing light, the animals in the wild would be the first to notice as they wouldn’t comprehend what was going on and would simply become an early lunch for predators. We’d only have around 8 minutes to enjoy the rest of it. That’s because it takes that much time for sunlight to travel thousands of miles across the Solar System. Earth is still a planet powered by an iron core that doesn't produce enough heat to keep the planet warm.
