You might think it's an invention of the XX century, but it turns out that the initial lollipop-like sweet treat was most likely “invented” by people that roamed the Earth thousands of years ago while still living in caves. Ancient Egyptians also had a “lollipop” of their own. They took various fruits and nuts and glazed them in honey. The “lollipop” timeline now takes us to 1912, when a man named Samuel Born actually invented a device that inserted sticks into candy.
