The father of horror flicks, the maestro of thriller and suspense – the one, the only: Alfred Hitchcock. But who was the man behind those classic movies we all instantly recognize? He had a personality just as strange as some of his creations. Did you know, for example, that he had the irrational fear of eggs? He even confessed that he’d never tasted egg yolk in his life. Also, in his almost 81 years of life, he never drove a car. But he wasn’t afraid of cars – it was the thought of getting stopped by a police officer that kept him out of the driver’s seat. By the way, wanna know what was the biggest complaint about movies and TV shows of his time? Then stay with us! Other videos you might like:

– In 1962, Alfred Hitchcock was offered the title of Commander of the British Empire. It’s a very honorable award… but Hitchcock turned it down!
– In his whole career, Alfred Hitchcock directed somewhere around 50 feature-length films, but none of them brought him an Oscar in the category for Best Director.
– Being a little on the heavy side, the cinema maestro wasn’t too fond of his own body. He liked to call it his “armor of fat” and perhaps it did serve as a sort of protection.
– “Have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid?” That’s how Hitchcock expressed his disgust of what many people consider a breakfast staple!
– Fear of the police goes back to his childhood when his dad and a local policeman tried to teach little Hitchcock a lesson about misbehaving by having him sit in a jail cell for a couple of minutes.
– Hitchcock is quoted as saying, “I’m frightened of my own movies. I never go to see them. I don’t know how people can bear to watch my movies.”
– Many of his flicks have shots in the bathroom. At that time, showing a toilet was considered taboo in film, but Hitchcock thought that was a silly rule. – The director explained his preference for fair-haired leading ladies by saying, “Blondes make the best victims” on screen. – Most movie fans will tell you that he’s also famous for putting himself in his own films. He gave himself a small cameo in more than half of his movies. – Hitchcock’s biggest complaint about movies and TV shows of his time was that they were more like “a picture of people talking.”
– Speaking of scripts, Alfred Hitchcock was really careful about his. Keeping every plot twist safe and secure was a top priority.
– Hitchcock’s wife actually played a huge role in his moviemaking, not just as far as the score was concerned. Film critic Charles Champlin once wrote: “The Hitchcock touch has four hands. And two of them are Alma’s.” Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz —————————————————————————————-
