Did you know that the images formed in the retina of your eyes are upside down? So you actually see the world upside down and in 3D – which gives you proper visual orientation, when you need to navigate through a set of stairs, for example. Processing visual information is a pretty complex task – and it takes up a relatively large portion of the brain compared to other senses. Your brain does a lot of work before you actually get the image in front of your eyes. One takes is to combine two images from different eyes into one.
