Why Nobody Has Visited the Moon in 50 Years

Ever wondered why we haven't visited the Moon in half a century? Well, here are five reasons in a nutshell. Back in the '60s and '70s, we did the whole Apollo thing, and folks kinda felt like we'd been there, done that. Budget constraints shifted priorities away from space exploration. The intense Space Race rivalry that fueled lunar visits cooled off. We've sent robots and rovers to do lunar exploration, and they're rocking it. Mars has stolen the spotlight lately, with plans for manned missions and colonization. So, the Moon's been a bit overshadowed. 🌕🪐 Credit: Eugene Cernan: By Harrison Schmitt/NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=113250319 Artemis III: By NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5013 Artemis II Crew: By NASA Headquarters/NASA/Bill Ingalls, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=132088644 Systems Engineer Elio Morillo: NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/13828/ training astronauts: By NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/13654/ CAPE CANAVERAL: By NASA – https://images.nasa.gov/details-KSC-69P-631, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=99186994 Apollo 11 astronauts: By NASA – https://flic.kr/p/cZYSNo, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=20918764 Gateway Canadarm3: By NASA, Canadian Space Agency, https://images.nasa.gov/details/NHQ_2022_0825_Gateway%20Canadarm3%20Animation NASA Explorers: By NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/14205/ Orion Spacecraft: By NASA/Radislav Sinyak – https://flic.kr/p/2hUrKUn, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=84978586 Orion descending: By Josh Valcarcel – https://flic.kr/p/2o5j9WZ, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=126606156 Artemis I mission: By NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/14195/ Orion Spacecraft Launch: By NASA/Ames Research Center, https://images.nasa.gov/details-ARC-20200109-AAV3245-Orion-EscapeAbortViz-NASAWeb Service Module 2: By NASA Johnson Space Center/NASA/Radislav Sinyak, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=135411785 European Service Module: By NASA, https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-tv-to-air-event-marking-arrival-of-test-orion-powerhouse, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=45368515 The VIPER Landing Site: By NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4937/ Electrical Power Subsystem: By NASA/Sophia Roberts/GSFC/, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/14167/ Niagara Falls: By Maksim Sokolov, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=104037277 spacesuit: By Phil Plait, Gazebo,- https://www.flickr.com/people/badastronomy/, CC BY-SA 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=41794110 Animation is created by Bright Side. #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. —————————————————————————————- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Listen to Bright Side on: Spotify – https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD34jRLrMrJux4VxV Apple Podcast – https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/idhttps-podcasts-apple-com-podcast-bright-side/id1554898078 —————————————————————————————- Our Social Media: Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/brightside.official/ Tik Tok – https://www.tiktok.com/@brightside.official?lang=en Snapchat – https://www.snapchat.com/p/c6a1e38a-bff1-4a40-9731-2c8234ccb19f/1866144599336960 Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru —————————————————————————————- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me
