Have you ever thought of why cars don’t have ejection seats? Fighter planes, for example, do have ejection seats. They’re necessary, but only as a last resort. A fighter jet will usually carry explosives or fighting equipment, things can go wrong when you’re flying with hazardous materials on board. Ejection from a jet is relatively fast. It only takes two seconds from the pull of the handle to the deployment of the parachute. As for cars, they are already equipped with a lot of safety measures. You’ve got your airbags, your seatbelts, your traction control. Amongst many others. But what about ejection seats? Actually, it’s an unpleasant experience, to put it lightly. It might sound fun in theory, almost like riding a rollercoaster, but it’s not. A pilot that once experienced this said that, when it happened, he lost a full inch in height! #brightside

Astronomers Just Saw the Biggest Boom Since the Big Bang
It was an epic space explosion that made scientists’ hair stand on end when they discovered it in February 2020! Its size and power are enormous even by cosmic standards… It’d take 2.6 billion years to get to where this explosion occurred in space. And here’s the real kicker: this burst lasted 100 million years! That’s from today’s digital world with smartphones and self-driving cars all the way back to dinosaur times! So what set off this space boom of epic proportions? A black hole, what else! This monster swallowed so much substance that it choked and shot out a bunch of plasma beams. They cut through space and formed a cosmic wasteland all around the site! It was thought to be the biggest explosion in the universe. But sooner or later, every record gets broken! So, here's a new portion of the most incredible, awe-inspiring, and unbelievable facts about space. #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

If You See a Laser Pointer on Your Door, Change the Locks!
Unfortunately, nowadays even your own house can't be completely safe and protected from intrusion. But if you take care of your possessions by adding some innovations, it can help you to save your valuables in the case of a robbery. We've collected simple yet effective tips that will help you protect your home and even discourage thieves from breaking into your property. And as it turns out, security tricks that we’ve relied on over the years may not have been such good ideas after all. Do we have a chance at protecting our homes from burglars even if we can’t afford expensive security alarm systems? Actually, yes. Technology is your friend, but it’s still better to lock your door with a good old fashioned key… Better than relying on voice-controlled digital assistants. You can use a laser beam to sabotage those things. Burglars change a laser’s intensity, find the perfect frequency and trick your digital assistant into thinking it heard a command to open your door! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

Flies See You in Slow Motion and 9 Superhero Animals
Why is it hard to hit a fly? How do flies avoid being swatted? How are they so incredibly fast? Flies actually have a pretty normal speed for their size. You're just a bit too slow. A tiny fly brain reacts several times faster than yours to what it sees. 1 second to the fly feels like 5 or 6 to you. When a fly looks at you, it sees you as if you’re hanging out at the bottom of your local pool, moving around really slowly. What if you dropped a balloon from your bedroom window and watched it fall to the ground. That’s how slow a fly sees regular things fall! So it has ninja reaction speeds, but it also has special eyes. They're divided into thousands of receptors that capture light all at the same time. Flies can see in every direction at the same time, almost. No matter what side you attack from, that fly’s almost definitely gonna see it coming. So why does that fly even bother sticking around, you’re always trying to squash it? #brightside Profile view of ant Apomyrma stygia specimen casent0000077: By April Nobile/www.AntWeb.org, CC BY 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=8125842

3D Look Inside Black Holes, Stars, and Comets
Black holes are some of the most mysterious objects in the Universe. They have an immense gravitational pull. Nothing, including light, can escape this force. Every black hole has an invisible line-in-the-sand. Cross it – and you won't be able to escape, even if you're a beam of light. For obvious reasons, no one has ever had a chance to check what's inside a back hole. But we offer an alternative. How about taking a spectacular virtual journey into a black hole? And not only there: today, we're gonna explore stars, planets, comets, and asteroids! By the way, did you know that these irregular space rocks vary in size and can be as tiny as boulders or as large as football fields? They're solid, rocky remains of the disk of gas and dust that surrounded the young Sun 4.5 billion years ago! So, are you a true space lover? Then this 3D video will definitely fascinate you! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz
