21 Weirdest Past Airplanes Make You Want to Go Back in Time

What was flying like back in the past? Piano Parlor at 35,000 ft! “You won't believe you're on an airplane!” ― that could’ve been the slogan of American Airlines. They pulled 50 seats out of each Boeing 747 and used the space to create a passenger lounge with armchairs, cocktail tables, and even a Wurlitzer electric piano. Their passengers could sing their favorite songs to the tickled ivories during long flights across the country. Or how about luxury in economy? In the early 1980s, Continental Airlines installed so-called “Polynesian Pubs” in some of its DC-10 jets. It was a small bar with snacks and drinks, round tables, and swivel chairs. There was also a video pong console. Continental took an approach worth appreciating ― this kind of luxury was for economy class passengers. Imagine what First Class was getting! Let's find out what it was like to fly in those days compared to flights today. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

People Are Afraid to Come to This Island, Here’s Why

There’s a beautiful island in the Atlantic Ocean 25 miles off the coast of Brazil, and it's one of the strangest places on Earth. It’s easy to reach, has an endless beach line, steep rocks to climb, and vibrant tropical greenery. Yet there isn’t a single hotel here, no one’s hiking on all those rocks, no one’s watching sunsets by the ocean, and you’ll never see kids build sand castles on the beach. People left this island a long time ago and will unlikely ever come back to live here. The island has been long since taken over by creatures you’d rather never meet. Ilha da Queimada Grande has the highest concentration of venomous snakes in the world! It’s the only natural habitat of the golden lancehead viper, one of the most dangerous snakes on the planet. Somewhere between 2,000 and 4,000 of these critters live here. They say you’re never more than 3 feet (90 cm) away from meeting one of them on the island! But how did the snakes end up in the middle of the ocean? #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

If You Have It in Your House, Throw It Out Right Now!

We don’t hesitate to throw away expired food products, because we know that they can harm our health. But in fact, our house is full of other things that should be put into a landfill, and we don’t even realize it. We decided to go through our houses, and we found out 18 things that it would be better to get rid of sooner than we used to think was necessary. For example, a filtered water-jug seems handy, you might’ve even found one with a cool design. But brace yourself for the bad news: Many of them don’t work that well. They’re many options if you want guaranteed good, clean drinking water. A water filtration system is definitely the way to go – they say it gets rid of 99% of contaminants! #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

35 Amazing Things Your Body Does Without You Knowing

The human body is unique. It’s a very complicated mechanism that still has a lot of secrets scientists have been researching for centuries. But why don’t we try to figure out what the capabilities of our body are, and how far they can stretch? Did you know, for example, that people can distinguish more than a trillion smells? You tend to remember odors better than sounds or images. That's why smells can evoke distant memories. Your bones are designed to be used a lot every day. Some of them can absorb the force of two or even three times your body weight. That's impressive, but your teeth are even stronger! When you bite something, they can withstand incredible pressure – up to 200 pounds! By the way, the enamel is considered to be a part of your skeletal system. We find every aspect of human beings to be fascinating and we’re excited to share some interesting facts about the human body with you. #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

A Giant Asteroid Is Flying to Earth, and You’ll See It

It's 66 million years before today – the last days of the Mesozoic era. An asteroid slams into the planet with enormous force. The impact leaves a crater that's more than 100 miles across. The crash sets off a series of natural disasters that erase 80% of life on Earth. It’s the very asteroid that’s going to finish off dinosaurs. All the creatures close enough to see the crash, don't survive for longer than a few seconds – so powerful the hit is. More than 30,000 objects that are circling Earth these days can potentially strike our planet. NASA considers around 1,500 of them "potentially hazardous." These space rocks are the remains left after the Solar System was formed some 4.6 billion years ago. If one of these objects hits our planet, the consequences will be unpredictable. They can vary from shattered glass and broken windows to all life forms getting wiped off the face of the earth. Unfortunately, in our case, it's likely to be the second option. In 2004, astronomers discovered a huge asteroid nearing Earth… #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz
