You hop into your PJs, sit on the edge of your bed, take out your phone, and set an alarm for… stop right there! Don’t do that unless you want tomorrow to be as hard as today! If you set an alarm on your phone, it’ll naturally be the first thing you take into your hands in the morning. And unless your gadget is from the ‘90s and cut off from the Internet, you’re likely to browse the web. Doing that first thing, even before getting up from bed, is gonna throw your routine into disarray, and your mind too. When you browse the Internet, you let tons of information into your brain. You begin to process and react to it immediately: some of the news you see might bring you joy, others might make you sad or worried, but either way, it’s all causing you stress… So, using your phone as an alarm? Here's why you better don't do that. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
Don't use it as an alarm clock 0:17
But your phone may help you sleep better 3:54
Minimize the blue light 4:30
Don't hit that snooze button 6:11

Here’s How You’ll Look If You’re Still Evolving
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j Every species on the planet needs to adapt to the world around it to survive. Human beings are no exception. We didn’t exist millions of years ago. The oldest skeleton of a modern person ever found is about 196,000 years old. But even in this relatively short period of time, our species has evolved a lot. In fact, humans have never stopped evolving! At least that’s what some scientists think. And some of our traits seem to prove it. For example, about 20,000 years ago, only children could drink milk without getting an upset stomach. But then humans domesticated animals like cows and goats. Today, about a third of all the world’s population can drink milk in adulthood. In fact, this ability actually developed independently among different groups of people all over the planet. So what if our bodies are still evolving? What changes await humanity in the future? Of course, nobody can tell for sure, but the experts do have some interesting theories. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
Why humans have evolved to drink milk 0:34
Why our jaws got smaller 1:02
Why we got taller 1:43
… and why we might get shorter again 2:04
Will all people look alike? 2:34
Our brains might become larger 3:35
Humans might adapt to fast food 4:36
We’ll become a lot less hairy 5:11
Our immune system might become “lazier" 6:08
Brain implants? 7:02
Our bodies might adapt to life beyond Earth 7:22 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

If Someone Objects a Wedding, Here’s What Happens
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j What happens if someone objects at a wedding? “Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace”. In movies and TV shows, this phrase signals someone to jump up from their seat or crash through a stained-glass window and disrupt the wedding by professing their love for the bride or groom. But the sentence: “If anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace” is used in real weddings. But what happens if someone speaks up at this moment? Well, love and disapproval aren’t valid reasons to object to a marriage. Then what is? How did all those movies get it wrong? The movies got it wrong because romance is the engine driving romantic comedy. Screenwriters can’t get enough dramatic plot twists, so they love the ol’ “interrupted wedding” scene! “Speak Now” gave people one last chance to bring these issues up. Wait, “one last chance”? How many chances did they get before that? #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

One Dog Saved a Whole Town in a Week
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j Do you love incredible stories of animals saving human lives? Well, then this one will definitely amaze you. In the fall of 1924, Curtis Welch, the only doctor of the port town of Nome in Alaska, raised the alarm: there was too little of the cure for diphtheria — a disease that was quite common for the time. Dr. Welch ordered an additional batch and was hoping to receive it before winter because otherwise the town would be locked out by ice for 8 months. But the ship with the cure didn’t make it in time, and the town had no choice but to wait until spring. There were no signs of an outbreak in Nome, but Dr. Welch was still beside himself for some reason. In December, he took in several children with a sore throat, and although he ruled out diphtheria, his suspicions grew with every passing day. Until finally, in January 1925, they turned out to be correct: he officially diagnosed the first case of the disease. Nome was home to about 2,000 people, but 10,000 more lived in the surrounding area, all at risk of contracting the illness. Over a million units of the cure were found across the country and shipped to Alaska. But the real challenge was to get them to Nome itself… #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

What if Minecraft was real life?
What if pressing only one key could change your life forever and make it much easier? If we were in Minecraft, everything would be possible! Too hard to live? Too many tasks, deadlines, school classes are tedious, and you just can’t go on like this? Change your life mode to somewhat less challenging – just press Escape! Adjust your life difficulty choosing peaceful, easy, normal, or even hard for those who like it tough. If your teacher is as hostile as a green and white pixelated creeper, choose the peaceful mode – monsters don’t spawn there. As for appearance, no more worries about pimples! Now that you’re pixelated, nobody’s gonna ever notice them. You look the same every day, your haircut, even if you hate it and can’t wait for your hair to grow, never changes, unless you change the skins. You can’t grow or lose some pounds. What else would be different if Minecraft was real life? #brightside Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

If You See This on the Ground, Don’t Pick It Up!
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j You're walking along the riverbank. The hot Georgia sun beats down on your neck. That’s when you notice something strange on the ground. Looks like a quarter-sized black coin with a weird pattern on it. You bend over for a closer look. Is it a coin? You crouch down on one knee to pick up your newfound treasure. As soon as your finger touches it, you pull your hand back as fear wells in your gut. It’s hairy. It’s no ancient treasure… it’s a huge spider! While it may seem like we know a lot about animals, it’s actually not true. For example, we had no idea that cassowary is the most dangerous bird in the world or that the Hawk Moth Caterpillar can change the shape of its body to look like a menacing serpent? The Golden Bee Fly sneaks into bee nests and lays eggs there. Its larvae hatch and feed on the bees and flower nectar. We often publish curious facts about the animal world and it’s time to learn something new about it today. A Place with Waves Bigger Than the Tallest Building
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j How is a Tsunami formed? When it's born, it's just a foot high 1 ft (30 cm). But the closer it gets to the shore, the larger it grows. Soon, it enters shallow waters and starts to slow down. Down there, humans – tiny like ants – scream and scatter in different directions. The first tsunami wave crashes into the shore. Its top moves faster than the bottom – that's what makes the wave so high and steep. The lowest point of the wave gets to dry land first. In the process, it creates a vacuum effect that pulls the water away from the coast, baring the harbor and seafloor. Those who recognize this first sign of an approaching tsunami still have the chance to save their lives. Five minutes later – and an enormous wall of water hits the shore and wipes out everything in its way. But it's not just a single wave – there are many. The scariest thing about tsunamis is that they can travel across entire oceans with almost no energy loss! #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
