The power of our bodies is truly incredible — for example, there are as many nerve cells in your brain as there are stars in our galaxy (about 100 billion!) and the human brain could store the equivalent of 2.5 million gigabytes – that’s 3 million hours of your favorite TV show! The longer mankind lives, the more secrets people discover about one of the most mysterious organisms: the human body. And the more facts we gather about ourselves, the more discoveries we want to make. Today, we wanna present you with some surprising facts about the human body you might never have guessed! Did you know, for example, that blue- and green-eyed people are less sensitive to pain than brown-eyed people? Or that your body glows in the dark? It’s just too weak for you to see it. Have you ever heard that the atoms in your body are 99% empty? And yet you feel full after dinner. How is that? The brain grows for the first 18 years of life and gets 5% smaller every 10 years after age 40. Every aspect of human beings is really fascinating, and our new compilation of unbelievable facts about our bodies will definitely surprise you! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

What If Giant Sea Dinosaurs Starting Chasing You
There were many kinds of mosasaurs. The smallest was a mere 3 ft long. The average length was 13 ft at the most. They weren't dinosaurs. These creatures were reptiles. Their close relatives are snakes and monitor lizards. They had short limbs with webbing between fingers and wide tails with broad triangular plates on them. While swimming, the critter kept its body stiff to reduce the drag through the water. The only thing that was moving was its mighty tail. Mosasaurs needed air. That's the reason they preferred shallow coastal waters. They eat pretty much anything: from fish and mollusks to sea birds and turtles. Mosasaurs went extinct about 66 million years ago. But have you ever thought about what the ocean would be like if the mosasaurs were still alive? And by the way, if Megalodon came face to face with Mosasaurus, who do you think would win? #brightside Preview photo credit: The Holoverse Dinosaur Experience. What If Megalodon and the Bloop Had to Divide the Ocean
Megalodon was an ancient marine predator, a giant shark feared by all aquatic life for millions of years. Megalodon had no competitors in the oceans. It was at the top of the food chain. Current sea inhabitants don't even realize how lucky they are because this monster went extinct about 3 million years ago. Although, people can't know for sure if it's really gone. The ocean is only 5 percent explored. It's possible that somewhere in the depths, Megalodon still terrifies all the fish. And today, the colossal shark will fight against a worthy opponent—the Bloop. Technically, that's just the name of the sound. The sound that oceanographers recorded in 1997. The creature that made it could be called a sea monster, a Kraken, a beast from the deep. No one knows how it looks, but we can guess its size. This ultra-low frequency Bloop was so powerful that it could be heard by special sensors 3,000 miles away. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

Black Hole Ate a Star Like Spaghetti, Watch What Astronomers Saw
Hey guys! Do you love cool facts about space? Wanna see one of the most significant astronomical events of all time? Then we go to South America! In the Atacama Desert, Chile, we find the most advanced technology for space observation. Here, the Royal Astronomical Community members watched for six months as a black hole simply absorbed a massive star. By the way, these are the same scientists who proved that in the center of our Milky Way galaxy is a supermassive black hole. And even took a photo of it! Imagine a star the size of our sun– about 860,000 miles wide. Such stars have enough weight to create a strong gravitational field, holding many planets in their orbit. And now, let’s place a giant black hole next to it. The hole is absolutely black, shaped like a disc, and weighs a billion times more than this star. The force of its gravitational field is incredible. Nothing can leave its gravity force. Objects that can move at the speed of light will still fall into this black abyss. Even light itself cannot escape its boundaries. So what happens to a star as soon as it enters the gravitational field of a black hole? #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

They Looked Inside Lost Bermuda Triangle Ship, Here’s What They Saw
September 2, 2019. the British Royal Navy's Ice Patrol ship called the HMS Protector sails through the calm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The time is 11 PM. Some of the ship's crew are on deck, while others are sleeping in their cabins. The captain steers the ship and looks straight at the horizon. Suddenly, against this beautiful landscape, one of the sailors notices the black silhouette of an unknown ship. The captain slows down and steers the ship a little closer to the mysterious vessel. This is an old cargo ship 250 feet long. Attempts to contact the crew members lead to nothing. It seems the unknown boat is floating in the ocean by itself. There’s no one on board. At least no one alive. British sailors don't dare to climb on that strange deck. They take a photo, post it on the Internet, and sail away. Many people on the Internet will assume the sailors met a real ghost ship. 5 months later, the same ship was seen in County Cork, Ireland – thousands of miles from this place… #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

What You’d Feel in the Deepest Ocean Bottom
The Mariana Trench is the deepest and most unexplored part of our planet. It’s so deep that if you stick Everest in it, its peak will still be underwater. The Mariana Trench is located in the Western Pacific Ocean, and its maximum known depth is 36,000 ft. Imagine you're tired of watching documentaries about the Mariana Trench and decided to check it out yourself. But you have neither a special suit nor a submarine. You only have an air tank and a brick, which you tied to your leg. Take a deep breath, and dive in. Okay, 5 ft underwater. You don’t feel anything unusual. This is the depth you might jump into a pool or swim at the beach to see exotic fish. 5 feet doesn’t cause any inconvenience, and you feel quite comfortable. But the brick pulls you deeper, and soon you find yourself at a depth of 32 ft. Here you begin to feel the main problem of diving so deep. And no, it’s not hungry sharks looking in your direction. The main threat is pressure. On the water’s surface, you felt 1 atmosphere of pressure. At a depth of 32 feet, this pressure is doubled. 65 ft underwater. It’s already quite dark here—and the discomfort from the pressure increases. By the way, do you know how much pressure a human can take underwater? And what would you feel in the deepest ocean bottom? #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
