What If You Lived for 1 Year Under a Dome

Have you ever thought of what it will be like to live in a dome for, say, a year? Sci-fi writers often write stories about groups of people that live in an isolated space and produce everything they need for a normal life all by themselves. We decided to try to imagine what life under a dome would be like, too. So if you're a fan of unusual what-if stories as we are, you will probably like this video. Okay, imagine that after 5 years of construction, your town’s dome was finally completed last night. It cost over $150 billion, but it was a smart investment in a self-sustaining future. Inspired by the dreams of yesteryear. There were ancient buildings with massive domes that stood for millennia. Then sports stadiums adopted this strongest of architectural shapes – “superdomes” they called them. Indoor sports resorts under the protection of a dome, like Tropical Islands in Germany. Giant biodomes and greenhouses such as the Eden Project in the UK. The next step was only natural – cover it all, the whole town! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

Everyone knows about this tragedy: how RMS Titanic sank in the early morning of 15 April 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean. We watched the movie, we heard about it. However, many questions still remain without answers. One of them: did the unsinkable ship really hit an iceberg? One of the biggest shipwrecks in human history occupies the minds of many, even 100 years later. The ultra-modern ship equipped with all the best facilities of the time, bearing the proud name of Titanic – how could it have been sunk by a mere iceberg? There were survivors of the tragedy who had other versions. For example, there is some evidence that says there were explosions and fires and that those are what made the ship sink! But if it's true, something must have caused that huge explosion. What could it be? Vaghinak Byurat who was one of the Titanic survivors described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs. What If All Sand Became Water in a Second

Millions of years ago, there were seas and oceans where deserts are today. What if it all comes back? Water instead of sand, where deserts used to be. Life on the planet would change completely. Sand can act like a liquid if a strong enough airflow makes it rise from below. The air reduces friction between sand particles, making more space. The particles begin to move freely as if they are in a liquid. If a huge vent suddenly opened under the Earth’s crust, blowing air from beneath, then perhaps the entire landscape would begin to sink like being in quicksand. Such monuments as the Egyptian pyramids or the Sphinx would sink under the ground. Huge cities built on sand would disappear. The Sahara Desert would resemble one bubbling cauldron. Camel caravans would simply fall down. But don't worry, the animals wouldn’t get hurt. Liquid sand is filled with oxygen, so they’d be able to swim in it. But what would happen if all of the sand turned into the water instead of just a liquid version of itself? This is a hypothetical question but let's try to answer it. #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

What If Megalodon and T-Rex Met One-on-One

Tyrannosaurus Rex existed about 70 million years ago. No one could defeat him in a fair battle. The largest T-Rex ever found was named Scotty. His hips were about 12 feet tall. But if Scotty straightened his back, he would be about 42 feet tall. It’s like putting 3 giraffes on top of each other. And if you wanted to pet this cute guy on the nose, you would have to stand on the shoulders of 7 people to reach him. Megalodon went extinct about 3 million years ago, but legends about it are still alive. It’s the biggest shark that ever existed, and it was a super predator in its time. Megalodon was about 50 feet long, which is more than a school bus! It was not only the most massive shark that ever existed but also the largest fish in the world. Its closest competitor in size was a modern whale shark. But he loses to megalodon by as much as 10 feet. But what would happen if T. Rex and Megalodon meet face to face? Who would win? #brightdside TIMESTAMPS:

If Mosquitos Bite You More Than Others, Here’s Why

Statistically, only about one in ten people are particularly attractive to mosquitoes. There are lots of theories about why mosquitoes attack some people whilst leaving others alone. There's some proof that people with type O blood are the most popular among mosquitoes. The next preferred blood type is type A. Skeeters are great learners. They know how to connect some cues, for example, your smell, with how delicious your blood is. If they like it, they might visit you again and again. Mosquitoes' penchant for picking you over others might not be about your blood. These buzzers are extremely skilled hunters. They pick up on the chemicals your body gives off. Their antennae have more than 70 different receptors! Whether an insect likes your smell or not also depends on your genetics and the bacteria living on your skin. If some of your relatives get bitten by mosquitoes more often than other people, you might have the same problem on your hands. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
