If a Stranger Acts Like Your Friend in Public, It’s a Cry for Help!

Riley is 19 years old. An hour ago she walked out of her house in a very good mood. She went for a walk, and in a couple of hours she was to meet her friends. While standing in line for an ice cream, she noticed that some man was staring at her from around the corner. He was wearing black shaggy pants, a black hoodie and sunglasses. Even though it’s hard to recognize a person dressed like that, she was pretty sure she’d never seen him before, and he looked… suspicious. What to do if you're being followed? Normally, getting followers is a good thing, but only if they stay within social media’s reach. So if you feel like someone’s getting on your tail, it’s always good to know how to safely manage the situation. We gathered a few useful tips to help you avoid bad consequences if you’re being followed or watched. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, remember rule number one: trust your gut. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, don’t take any risks. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

40+ Tips to Read Body Language in a Few Seconds

What does it mean to be able to read other people? It's about knowing, beyond words, what they're thinking or what they want to say. It's about sensing what they mean, even if they say something completely different. The ability to read other people can't but affect your social and personal life. It may sound cliche, but you don't need any super powers to be able to do that. No mind reading or telekinesis skills, no tips from Doctor Strange. All you need is to observe and notice tiny details in their appearance, handshake, tone of their voice, gestures. It all matters and gives you that full picture. Folding Smartphones Are Finally Here But Probably Not for Long

“It’s the latest news in tech! Foldable smartphones coming soon! The future is here!” Wait, we all had foldable phones back in the early 2000s! Yeah, the thing folded in half and flipped open with the flick of your thumb! Are we going back in time? The familiar, old flip phones (for anyone not old enough to remember) usually had a screen on one side and a keypad on the other, connected by a small hinge. The “clamshell” design. But nowadays, we need bigger and bigger screens. We’re now working and studying from our phones, watching movies and shows, multi-tasking with split-screen features. Watch a YouTube video on one side, chat on social media on the other! So, no, the future will be nothing like the past – it’ll be all about a big long bendable screen! That’ll be a reality sooner than you think because foldable screens already exist thanks to OLED display technology. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

22 Unusual Facts About Human Bones I’ve Heard for the First Time

It may seem there’s nothing exciting about human bones. They’re hidden under multiple layers of cells and tissues, they're dense, hard, and unassuming. But are they? Your bones not only protect your internal organs and help you move but also store fat and minerals! Your blood cells are produced there! Most of the bone tissue isn’t even solid! How about going on a journey through your bones to see it with your own eyes? An adult's skeleton's made up of 206 bones, and each of them has its own function. Interestingly, people are born with nearly twice as many bones. But as you grow up, these small bones fuse together and form larger ones as a person matures. If one bone's broken, those around it can't work properly either. The smallest bone in your body is dozens of times smaller than a penny. This bone's called the stapes and is located in your middle ear. The tiny thing weighs as much as two sesame seeds. Interested? Then check out these fascinating facts about the human body you might never have guessed! #brightside Preview photo credit: Stapes, human ear: By Welleschik, CC BY-SA 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=6671975

If You See This Tree, Don’t Touch Any Part of It!

Sometimes things aren't what they seem at first glance. For example, you see an animal and it looks so cute and harmless – like slow loris. But then you realize it's actually really dangerous and poses a threat to your life. After that you see a tree that looks familiar – just like an apple tree. But then you find out that some types of those can be dangerous too.  The main idea here – not to trust something that looks nice and familiar. Better check out some facts about it and decide if it's trustworthy or not. Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

If You Spend Hours on a Computer, These Tricks Are a Must

According to experts, rapid fatigue and pain in muscles and joints is 75% caused by the wrong posture at the computer and only 25% by the failure to respect the balance between work and rest. Bad habits of poor posture are a common cause for lower and upper back pain. Let’s search how you can make sitting before the PC easier on the body. Don’t worry, mastering a good posture doesn’t have to take a lot of time. In fact, it’s often just about being aware of your posture and making sure you don’t slouch in a chair or hunch your back when looking at your phone. That would be easier to do if you buy a special office or gaming armchair. They have anatomical shape, and they can be adjusted to fit your frame perfectly. If you don’t feel like buying an expensive chair, at least get some lower back support. It can be a seat cushion or a chair back attachment that will hold your back in a natural position, so you won’t get up sore. Your eyes will get sore much less often if there’s no glare on the screen. Turn your monitor away from all sources of light, especially the sun. So, guys, if you sit on your laptop all day long, here are some really useful tips that can help you feel better. #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

What If Sea Creatures Could Fly Suddenly

You're woken up by a strange sound. It's a knock on the window. But you live on the 12th floor – who, or what could be knocking? The knocking is getting stronger. You go to the window, reach for the curtain, and abruptly pull it aside… What you see is fantastic. There are flying (or floating) small fish outside your window. 1000s of them! A shoal of sardines rising directly to the sky. A few knock on your window as they pass. There are so many sardines, you can't see what's going on outside. But as the last fish flies by, the full picture opens before you. Large and small fish fly between the houses. Octopuses cut through the air with their tentacles into a rain cloud. A huge whale is slowly drifting toward the horizon. Above the roof of a nearby house, two sharks chase four sea lions. A neighbor waves to you. He holds a fishing rod from the window and waits for the fish to bite. A school–no, a flock–of dolphins flies past your window. They cheerfully whistle, as if they are greeting you. What's going on? Sea creatures of the Earth have learned to fly, leaving the ocean and filling the air! Yup, it's one of those crazy what-if scenarios you like so much! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz
