Would you ever wanna visit the Land of the Rising Sun? Japan is a country unlike any other you've ever visited. For example, did you know that traffic lights don't look the way we're used to seeing. Instead of a tiny little fellow we see on our traffic lights, there's a bunny on Japanese ones. As Japan is an island nation, it's developed numerous aspects of its culture totally unaffected by the influence from the outside. That's why some aspects of life in Japan might seem strange for the rest of the world. Let's take a loot at them. The Internet is full of different facts about Japan, so when it comes to their gadgets, architecture, and fashion, it's hard to surprise us. We all know about Japan's accuracy, work ethic, animal islands and square watermelons. But there are less obvious things happening there that can bewilder even the biggest fans of Japanese culture. For example, for introverts who may feel lonely now and again, there are special cafes in Japan that feature cuddling services. And Japanese food is crazy, combining a bunch of unusual flavors in regular things. How about ice-cream? Choose the flavor: there are potato, miso, wasabi, soy, and many other flavors. For those who like it extreme, there’s even raw horse meat ice-cream. Here are the most unusual facts about Japan and Japanese culture that will change your view of the Land of the Rising Sun! #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

We humans love the excitement of taking a risk or trying out our good luck. Buying a lottery ticket, doing extreme sports, or riding roller-coasters can do the trick. However, sometimes an action as simple as having a meal can cause an adrenaline rush. Our health and even lives may depend on the chef's qualifications, storage conditions, or even the after-life reflexes of the meal. For example, have you ever heard of pufferfish? It's a Japanese delicacy and something akin to Russian roulette in the world of food. Its highly poisonous flesh contains tetrodotoxin, which is 1,200 times more toxic than cyanide! It’s almost completely banned in the US. Let's find out more about it and some other dishes from all over the globe that can give you an adrenaline rush stronger than that from any roller-coaster and test your good luck better than all the lotteries in the world! #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

Astronomers from MIT registered a repeating signal from 500 million light years away. Such signals are called fast radio bursts, or FRBs, and they’re usually singular events. No one knows what their sources are, but they could be supernovae or bursts of energy from quasars. This repeating one, though, is pretty creepy because it’s regular: for four days, radio equipment captures signals all the time, and then they abruptly stop. But after 12 days, the same pattern begins: 4 days of constant radio bursts and 12 more days of silence. Astronomers managed to locate the signal as coming from a galaxy half a billion light years away from us, but what causes it is still unknown. It may be a spinning quasar or a supermassive black hole, but an alien technology is not excluded either. By the way, there just might be about 6 billion Earth-like planets in the Milky Way galaxy alone. The latest data has shown that every fifth Sun-like star can have at least one planet in its habitable zone! Okay, here's the most amazing news from the further reaches of outer space. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

Did you know that the Meg wasn't the largest creature living deep in the ocean? Actually, the largest ocean creature is… a jellyfish! Yup! It's not that little one you're used to thinking of: being about the size of a dinner plate. Lion's Mane Jellyfish has a bell of about 2.3 meters in diameter and its tentacles can reach about 36.5 meters in length. And bluebottle jellyfish can reach up to 165 meters in length. It is the world's longest creature made up of colonies of separate organisms. Super long tentacles are also highly venomous. Apart from the largest creatures, the ocean is also full of different organisms. Little but dangerous crabs, turtles, venomous sea snakes, goblin sharks. Who else lives in the ocean depth and is the Meg the scariest monster out there? Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz

As soon as we've decided we know everything about famous sights of the world – if not in person, then thanks to the Internet – we learn there are more secrets to find that aren't known to the general public. Did you know, for example, that when Gustave Eiffel was designing his famous tower in Paris, he added a secret apartment for himself right on top of it? Visitors to the third level can now take a glimpse of the apartment through a small window. Or have you ever heard of secret apartments in the New York public libraries? They’re meant for the library superintendents and their families. They used to live, cook meals, take showers, and do other regular things in the Schwarzman Building on 5th Avenue. They also had a cool bonus of walking the library rooms at night. So let's take a tour around some of the world's greatest sights and take a look at what else they have to offer that doesn't meet the eye at once. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

What do our ears reveal about us? They can serve as identification. When we're born, our ears are fully formed. They don't change as we grow, although the lobe descends a little. This makes them a great way of identifying a person, just like a fingerprint. But, more than that, нour ear shape could reveal your personality! For example, wide ears can be a sign that the person is creative. These people are usually great artists. Or you can believe, or not believe the fortune teller who reads your palms and claims to know your future, but the shape of your palm is sure to describe your personality. Palms with short fingers are a sign of a stubborn person. Also, we can tell it from a face expression if the person is friendly or not. Nose shape matters, too! So, let's find out what your physical traits can say about your personality. #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
