How to love yourself? Why is it some people don't do anything at all and everyone loves them? This isn’t just about being dependent on someone else's opinion, or constantly thinking about how to better show myself. Low self-esteem creates many problems with different shapes and nuances. People who depend on other's opinions may also dislike themselves or believe they’re not capable of anything. People with low self-esteem can believe they will fail before they even try. And if they do succeed in something, they think they were just lucky. This is called impostor syndrome. When a person succeeds in something but doesn't believe they deserve it. For example, you've written an article for a magazine. You're sure that the article is terrible, but people liked it. Maybe you've really managed to write something good? No, you don't believe that. Most likely, people didn't notice how terrible the article is. You managed to deceive them. This is imposter syndrome. Are there any ways to overcome low self-esteem? #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

What If You Showered in Hand Sanitizer Everyday
How do hand sanitizers work? Let’s see what sanitizer normally contains. The first and most important ingredient is alcohol to help tear off that fatty coating any bacteria have. When a germ gets in contact with alcohol, its coat bursts off and it can no longer cause you any harm since it’s not active anymore. To make the sanitizer truly effective, the alcohol should be at least 60%, then it’ll finish off almost all the germs around you. But if water were not available, could hand sanitizers be a good alternative? How about looking to the hypothetical future of the planet Earth? So, the world’s not that different – most things that were so common in the 21st century still exist in the 22nd. Turns out there’s only one major change, and it’s water supply. It all started with field irrigation using energy drinks, and even though it wasn’t a success, they had another idea. Now they want to replace all the water in the supply system with hand sanitizer… #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

You Can’t Surf Tsunami But You Can Ride Even Bigger Waves, Here’s Why
What's the biggest wave ever surfed? Imagine a 10-story-high wall of water with a foamy-white peak smashing into the shore. That’s the mental image we all have when we think of tsunamis, but is it accurate? And if it is, why don’t daredevil surfers ride them? That’s a huge wave begging to be caught! Fear of heights? Top speeds? Because they choose life? But they’re supposed to be daredevils! Seriously, where would anyone get the idea to surf a tsunami? Movies! All those disaster flicks depicting tsunamis as monstrous waves. Realistically, the difference between tsunamis and surfing waves is as ridiculously huge as that movie wave about to take out that skyscraper. You CAN surf on a massive wave. As long as it’s the right kind. And that surfable kind can even be bigger than tsunamis! So, what is the difference between this “right” kind of wave and tsunamis? #brightside TIMESTAMPS:

Village Squeezed Between Two Cliffs with 160-ft Drop, Yet People Live There
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, rivers of volcanic lava rushed through what is now Spain. With time, they turned to rock and formed a crag over the abyss. Back in the Middle Ages, someone decided to build a village on that basaltic rock between the rivers Fluvia and Toronell. They named it Castellfollit de la Roca, and this is one of the strangest places in the world. You can see it from the distance, and from sunset till midnight, the cliffs are illuminated, making it look even more like a mysterious medieval castle. The village is shorter than a mile and is made up of narrow shadowy streets and little squares that all blend into one main artery. Most of the buildings here are made of the same material as the pedestal the village stands on – it’s all volcanic rocks. The place is so tightly pressed it feels like one wrong step, and you’d fall into the abyss… #brightside TIMESTAMPS:
