As traders, we constantly ask the question: should I sell or hold? This answer doesn’t always come easy. There are a plethora of factors to consider when deciding how to play out positions. Now the question is, do I take the 10%, or do I hold overnight because this looks like it's set up freaking perfectly for tomorrow? Let’s poll the room: Should I take profits or do I hold? What are some factors I need to be thinking about? As you get more and more resistance levels, it should theoretically get harder to break out. I want to give it time, but also have to have a broader perspective where the stock is up on the day with no news. I can make an argument why to buy it at .02 because now it's a multi-day breakout, but if I was considering buying it now, I would wait for a dip. I don't need to chase this. You can always rebuy. Tim Grittani would stay in it, but I'm not Tim Grittani. Remember all traders are different. There's no one right way. Always experiment, prepare and find what works for you! Every trading account comes with great responsibility — at least it should. It's all too easy to risk a lot of money with just a few clicks. Remember that often-quoted statistic? The one that says around 90% of traders lose … Well, that’s due to lack of preparation, and that includes mental preparation. If you’re not feeling it mentally or physically, don’t trade. Don’t force it. It’s not worth the risk. We’re filming this on a Saturday … And thankfully, the stock market isn’t open today. I’m not in a mental or physical state to be trading today. I’m just not feeling it. So I’m making this video to serve as a warning. Maybe you can relate, or maybe you just need the reminder. So keep it in your playlist for whenever you feel like this. Or if you know somebody who's feeling under the weather, send them this video. It’s OK to walk away. Sometimes you need to. You have to remember that the market’s not going anywhere. There will always be another trade or opportunity. Don’t risk your hard-earned money. Save if for those days when your setups are awesome and you’re totally in the zone. Prepare so you can snipe the next trade. Learn to trade conservatively. I’d rather see you miss a trade and protect yourself from potential losses. Always think about what could go wrong, worst-case scenario. Remember this video lesson the next time you’re not feeling 100%. Don’t risk your hard-earned money by trading with the wrong attitude. If you trade with a small account, be grateful. There are a lot of benefits to trading with one. When you start trading, I think it’s key to start with the right mindset. Too many people focus on the wrong things in the beginning of their trading careers. What it’s really about is growing your knowledge account. Study the past, the patterns, and the rules. Be prepared for when you start risking your hard-earned money. What’s rule number one? Cut losses quickly. It doesn’t matter how small or big your account is. You have to protect what you have. The money that you make or lose in the beginning is negligible. Focus on LEARNING. Penny stock trading is risky. You will lose sometimes. It comes down to being meticulous with strategy. You take one trade at a time, take careful aim, and trade like a sniper. It's not really about the money that you make when you start trading with a small account. It's about your education and growing your knowledge account. Again, you will lose in the stock market, but sometimes losses can teach you the best lessons … You learn what not to do. Remember that you have two accounts: your monetary account and your knowledge account. You can always learn. You can still get better. You just have to stay focused. So what do you need to do to really grow a small account? Amazing hot picks? Luck? Nope. You have to be meticulous and respect the process. When I first started teaching how to trade stocks, it was a lot more tedious to track stocks. We’d have to check dozens of websites, look at all kinds of news and indicators. Frankly, it wasted a lot of time… So we refined the whole process and put everything all into one software platform — StocksToTrade. And one indicator has been working well in 2019 … and it’s built right into the StocksToTrade software. Looking for short squeezes is big this year… The short data that you have that's one or two months old doesn't even really matter. It's all irrelevant because the best short squeezes happen over a few days. So how do you determine if a short squeeze is happening? Well, you can't. It is not an exact science. But with this awesome software, you can use the social media search tool and see specifically which stocks are being targeted. If you look through social media you can see that 2019 brought an excessive amount of shorts. You can see that a lot of these big percent gainers are targeted by shorts. And even though they might be right in the long run — they can also be wrong for one or two days. So short-sellers try to get the stock price down, and a lot of the time they use social media to do so. Meanwhile, my students and I see these shorts. We see these posts on social media claiming that the stock is going down when in reality it’s going up. Frankly, I don't short that much these days, because the risk-reward has been so skewed and there’s too much competition. But no matter your strategy, you need to be prepared, you need to study, and you need to understand how the patterns can play out. And you need to use smart tools.
