Long live penny stocks! When it comes to the future of penny stocks, it’s hard to know who or what to believe. There are plenty of people who are quick to say that penny stocks are a played-out niche, that you won’t be able to trade them long term. Well, StocksToTrade lead trainer Tim Bohen has been doing it for over a decade, and I’ve been doing it for over two. And it’s not over yet. Still, these things are worth thinking about: Will this market be exploited? Will penny stocks die? Is this a long-term, viable strategy to learn? These are the topics I discuss with Bohen in this video from the Trader & Investor Summit 2019. Honestly, the confusion, noise, and utter BS surrounding penny stocks are a huge part of why I became a teacher. After I was featured on “Wall Street Warriors,” I was contacted by a TON of people who wanted to know about penny stocks. I realized I had an opportunity to be a different voice in the world of trading low-priced stocks. I had the opportunity to be real, in stark contrast to the many fakes and frauds out there. I’m obsessed with trading. I missed my college graduation because I was trading. And I’ve been trading consistently since then. Here’s the thing: the patterns may present themselves differently, but they really don’t change that much. In fact, more and more patterns just keep emerging. Once upon a time, I focused mainly on short selling and exposing penny stock pumps. A lot of my top students still short sell. But for me, this strategy became too crowded. I moved away from it. Now I work with short squeezes. My point is that there are always opportunities. You’ll need to adapt, and the patterns will continue to shift. But there will always be opportunities. There will always be small companies, promoters, and pumps. If you believe in idiots, scams, and greed, there will always be penny stock schemes. Sometimes, I wish penny stocks would crash! I’d have time to exercise and get fit. Maybe I’d finally get enough sleep. It really doesn’t have to be complicated.
