I just got here after going to Art Basel. I’m working with my charity Karmagawa to open 10 new libraries. I was gonna brag about how great and beautiful it is here … But actually, it’s raining really hard, and I have a sinus infection. It kinda sucks. But am I upset about it? Nope. Wanna know? That’s life. It happens. And it’s the same in the stock market. You can plan. You can do everything right. And things can still go wrong. No matter how much money you make, how much planning you do, or how perfect a trade might look… … things can still go wrong. The only predictable thing about the stock market is that it will always be unpredictable. Your brokerage site can go down. Unexpected news can drop. Stocks will go against you. Don’t waste time blaming yourself. It’s understandable to get upset. I hate seeing students feel down and discouraged. But you can’t let this stuff ruin your life. Instead, try to look on the bright side. Make lemonade from lemons … all that. Because when you think about it, there’s always an opportunity in these dark moments. Let’s say you don’t cut losses quickly. Yeah, you broke my biggest rule. But don’t blame yourself … Instead, let it be a wake-up call. Learn from your mistakes and correct your actions. If what feels like the end of the world now can help you become stronger in the long run, then there’s value in it. If you don’t have to work for success, if it comes too quickly, you won’t appreciate it. You’re more likely to lose it all. I’ve had losses, including a HUGE $500K loss that I talk about in my book “An American Hedge Fund.” Did I let it ruin my life? No! Today, I’ll tell you how that massive loss was a huge blessing — it led me to where I am today. What about you … would you venture out during a rainstorm or stay inside to recoup like me? ✅ Follow Tim Sykes and his trading travels: Instagram: https://bit.ly/1Remh9f
